Core Responsibilities: Safeguarding the Premises Fulfill the role of security host at the entrance gate and reception area during assigned shifts: (Shift 1: 07:00 – 15:00; Shift 2: 08:00 – 16:00; Shift 3: 15:00 – 23:00). Our Security Host operates on a rotational basis, with occasional weekend commitments, particularly during school term time—approximately 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday per month. Monitor all non-employee visitors, including contractors, students, parents, and substitutes, ensuring they can provide a valid reason for their presence on school grounds. This encompasses individuals such as construction personnel and potential parents. Acquaint yourself with the faces of employees, substitutes, students, parents, as well as any outsourced or contracted service providers. Maintain an alert attitude regarding potential threats to the school's security. Keep a close record of any individuals or activities that appear suspicious, whether recurring or isolated in nature. Conclude daily duties with a comprehensive inspection during the final shift of the day. Offer assistance at the front desk by delivering receptionist support, which includes data entry, managing incoming calls, and handling daily mail distribution. Collaborate with fellow guards to compile work schedules and document the working hours of all security personnel. Act as the primary point of contact for the Head of Security in matters related to security and reception. Collaborate with the Head of Security to define responsibilities and present ideas for enhancing security measures.
Additional Responsibilities: Strengthening Preparedness Demonstrate proficiency in executing the guidelines laid out in the School's 'Bedrijfsnoodplan' (Emergency Response Plan) in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Cultivate and sustain a positive attitude and open lines of communication with local law enforcement agencies and security authorities. Foster open communication channels with the reception team. Stay up-to-date with the evolving requirements of BHV (Basisveiligheid en Hulpverlening), the Basic Safety and Assistance protocol. Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience: A Diploma Beveiliger 2 is required Customer service minded and able to work in an (international) school environment. Team player and able to communicate and work with other departments. Outstanding surveillance and observation skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to exercise good judgment. Strong reporting skills. Working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures. Knowledge of working with surveillance cameras (CCTV) periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts. Proven experience as a security officer or guard.
